You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 24

This is another filler chapter without Yu Tu but nonetheless an important one. Read on to find out how Yu Tu will come into play 🙂 Gu Man said please take note that the exhibition match did not take into account the different versions of the game as the strong heroes have been changing in different versions. Also, all other heroes mentioned in this chapter except the two with pictures, had already been introduced in prior chapters.

Are you watching Never Gone with Elvis Han? If you don’t know about the drama, it is adapted from Xin Yi Wu’s novel called You’re Still Here which was translated by yingniang in Fanatical a while back. There was also a movie version which I am not fond of. I’ve watched about 4 episodes of the drama, so far so good. It is following the revised version of the novel quite closely. The kid and adult cast are also pretty spot on in terms of their looks and acting abilities. I think Viki has applied for the license to sub it into English. In the meantime, you can read lidge’s summary, but don’t hold any high hope that she’ll complete it 😛

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 23

glory competition

Some of you have been wondering if I’ve abandoned this novel. No, because hoju and I’ve never abandoned any novel translation before. Once we’ve started, we’ll persevere to the end. Just that like the turtle, I take longer to reach the finishing line 🙂 I’ve been busy with real life as well as life as Wallace Chung’s fan in facebook 🙂 I’ll try to pick up the pieces and continue to update on a more regular basis now that hoju is taking her much deserved break. I know it is kind of irresponsible to leave my readers with no update for a while but as I’ve mentioned this before, I’ve no posting schedule and I am doing this merely as a hobby which I can put down and pick up.

Like most drama and novel, once you reach the middle part, there is bound to be some fillers and this chapter is obviously one. This is another reason why I was not that motivated to translate on a timely manner 😛

For those who are awaiting update on Shushengbar, the good news is that hamster had bought a new domain name. The problem is migrating the old content to the new domain name due to the usage of sub-domain name in the old site. Chancy has been too busy to sort this out. We’ve a volunteer Amy who has been very helpful. So, hopefully the new site can be up and running by Christmas.

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 22

Update: It has been a month already but the owner of Shushengbar has not been responding to my email or message so I don’t know what happened to her & the website 😦 Reina found out that the domain name had expired. She has been very helpful by contacting the hosting coy and will try to get the saved content of the website. Chances are very slim due to privacy reason and neither of us is the owner of the website. If this fails, I’ve to rebuild the website. But most of the google caches are gone 😦  If any IT savvy reader knows how to restore the website with minimum fuss or anyone saved anything of the website or anyone has any brilliant suggestions, please leave me a comment. Thank you.

Why is our rabbit Yu Tu so tired, making him fell asleep while watching the King Pro League competition with Jing Jing?

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 21

Update: Shushengbar is still inaccessible because I still cannot get hold of the owner 😦 I’ll keep on trying and hopefully everything can be saved and will be back to normal soon.

After the storm, life is back to normal for our OTP or is it?

I’ll enclose a picture of the heroes in the game and some information when he or she was first mentioned in the novel. If you’ve forgotten and the hero is mentioned again later, you can check back previous chapters.

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 20

Anyone remember my frenemy lidge lol? She has her own blog now which specialises in summarizing/recapping dramas. Her summaries are pretty good & up-to-date so do visit dorayakiz to support her. Both of us like the novel Heavy Sweetness Ash Like Frost. For your information, I was the one who recommended the book to xiaoyuer which got her to start translating it & later picked up by decembi 🙂 We are equally pleased with the drama Ashes of Love which followed the novel quite closely. Hence I’ll be helping her with some of the summaries. Even if you don’t support lidge, you also must pop over to dorayakiz  to support me or else no novel translation for you lol. The drama turned out better than we expected and even though there is no official English subs yet, you can still understand the drama by reading our detailed summaries.

Because of this, the posting for You’re My Glory will continue to be fortnightly. Yes, blame this on lidge. I am innocent since I can only work on one thing at a time 😛 Moreover my editor is on vacation. Yeh, our rabbit is back in Shanghai at the end of the chapter so how will his relationship with Jing Jing develop later?

I’ve received a few messages asking about Shushengbar. I am the administrator for that website but I am not the owner !!! The owner is Chancy who has been paying the hosting and domain name fees without putting any ads. If I remember correctly, these few days will be the website’s 6th anniversary. I suspect Chancy might have forgotten to pay the domain name renewal fees so the website is down. I’ve emailed her but still no response from her. You’ll just have to wait patiently for her to sort it out since I am powerless to do anything. I can’t even migrate that website to be hosted free of charge by WordPress or pay the fees on her behalf 😦

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 19

We’ve reached the halfway mark of the novel. Hence there’ll be trouble in paradise 😦 The slow tortoise did finish posting the novel online rather quickly but the juicy bits (epilogues) were not posted. I suspect they’ll be included in the physical book or else how to sell the book? The book won’t be published anytime soon because she is still waiting for approval from Tencent for the use of their King of Glory game.

You’re My Glory (你是我的荣耀) – Chapter 15

Thank you for all the well wishes. In this chapter, we learned why Yu Tu has to give up the sea and the stars. It is easy for the parents to support their offspring whose ambitions are common and can earn a good living. But if they aspire to do something non-mainstream with an insecure career prospect, it is rather hard on them. This is more so if the family is not well off. Some Chinese readers think aerospace is rather mysterious and romantic lol.

Jing Jing told Yu Tu that he is a rabbit that has seen the most stars. Many Chinese readers love this sentence. This sentence originated from the Weibo posting of Jade Rabbit Lunar Rover. He posted first-person accounts of Yutu, China’s lunar rover and is very popular across China. Designed to survive for just three months, Yutu has been operating on the moon for over two years, lasting longer than the Soviet Union’s 1970 moon rover Lunokhod 1, which spent 11 months on the moon. Reflecting on his own life, the lunar adventurer seemed satisfied. “I’m a rabbit that has seen the most stars!”
