Sob sob, this is the last joint epilogue on Feng Teng and Shan Shan until probably 20 years later 😛  I have good quality pictures of Feng Teng and Shan Shan only so don’t blame me for being bias 😛 I did not buy the reprinted novel and my source was deleted before I managed to save Xiao Nai’s family pictures 😦 At least I found you all the pretty pictures in the reprint book as it is not easy to find them, not even in Chinese website. For your information, the movie version of Wei Wei & Xiao Nai will start filming in May with a famous actress and an unconfirmed actor. Who could that be?

This is another hilarious chapter on Feng Teng vs Xiao Nai. Needless to ask who I am more fond of 😛 It’ll be interesting to read about Feng Teng vs Cong Cong in the future, lol. Thank you for reading and this is really THE END 😦 Lastly, a big thank you to hoju for helping me with the editing especially the gaming terminology and also bongsd for helping to search for Xiao Nai’s family pictures.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Joint Epilogue (Part 2)

unnamed1d0c8644ebf81a4c6720dbffd42a6059252da6b0

Of course, I am saving the best for later so in this post you’ll get to read Feng Teng versus Xiao Nai. Who do you think will win? I am sure you can guess the man in white is Xiao Nai with the game ID Yi Xiao Nai He. Whereas the other man is Feng Teng with the game ID Every Time Wife Lies Dead. So, Big Boss or Da Shen is more handsome? There are pictures of 2 other players in the post so click and see for yourself 😛

Hoju: Sorry, Feng Teng, but in the game, I will take Yi Xiao Nai He.  That drawing is dreamy…

For those waiting for the drama filming of Wei Wei & Xiao Nai, the latest buzz is that it’ll be postponed because Gu Man is revising the script. I guess she has heard feedback of how cheesy and corny her My Sunshine’s script is 😛 No actor or actress has been confirmed. On the other hand, the actress for the movie version has kind of been confirmed but has not been announced yet. Hence, all you can do is wait patiently.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Joint Epilogue (Part 1)

unnamed967beaf81a4c510feed6d52c6359252dd42aa5b0

Anyone can recognise who these 2 women with weapons are? Yup, the one in red is Bei Wei Wei with an online game ID Lu Wei Wei Wei and the other one in yellow is my beloved Xue Shan Shan with an online game ID Beat Boss Can Sleep Well. The other little guy carrying the zither inside the post is Xiao Nai and Wei Wei’s son Xiao Ming Cong with an online game ID Bright Moonlight in Front of Bed. These are the free bookmarks in the reprint novels issued in August 2014. There are 5 joint epilogues of Shan Shan and Wei Wei which I’ll post over 3 weeks.

Adapting Novels to Dramas/Movies

imageb8ac5682d158ccbf5fa420e91bd8bc3eb03541bfimagesCAE6KWPG

I know I posted this feature twice before but I’ve since modified and expanded it so the information is very current. I don’t like to make lots of posts:P I also have changed one of the cover picture so can you spot which one lol? Okay, now I’ve changed another cover picture because bongsd asked me to change Xiao Xiao’s clothes, LOL.

I am going to jump on the bandwagon and give you a preview of what up and coming c-dramas you can expect appearing on your screen soon. However my focus will primarily be on Chinese novels that have or will be adapted into dramas. They are sitting on quite some finished stock. In the meantime, some books are in the process of being filmed while some book copyrights have been sold. If you are interested in the stories, there are links to the book bar or external sources. If there is a trailer or any video, the link is in bracket. This post will be constantly updated with the latest information.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Interesting Tidbits on Life After Marriage (Part 5)

1dccd6ca7bcb0a46df30bc0f6863f6246b60afb0

Surprise!!! I’ve saved the best for last:P This post should satisfy those who feel that the drama is incomplete and want more. This is really the last  tidbit in the novel.  The only thing I’ve not translated is the joint epilogues with Just One Smile is Very Alluring and they are all about online gaming and interactions.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan and Just One Smile is Very Alluring, both novels have been reprinted with new covers and released a week ago with more freebies compared to the first edition. Those freebies look really good so I am contemplating if I should get them but I can’t  read so I’ve to think twice about it. This cover picture is one of the free poster. Can you guess who are the 4 kids in the picture and the 2 men in the basketball court? Gu Man did complain that the 2 men were drawn too small for anyone to take notice of them.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Interesting Tidbits on Life After Marriage (Part 4)

622f29bbgw1dk7hkaz4lhj

For now, this is the last part of Shan Shan but there is still a few more little epilogues which are joint with the leads (Wei Wei and Xiao Nai) in Just One Smile is Very Alluring, another novel by Gu Man. I’ve not decided if I want to translate that novel but it is definitely a no for lidge because she doesn’t like the online game setting. I am kind of undecided because without my beloved lidge, I may not be able to do it all alone:P Do you really want to read it? Later, if I  decide not to translate it, I’ll translate all the joint epilogues and post them. This last bit talks about Shan Shan’s life after three years of marriage.  It is not really burning hot but people like Redhazel may not be able to read it in the office without getting red, haha…..

To readers of Shan Shan, lidge and I want to thank you for the support and comments. It took more or less a year but at least we manage to finish translating the novel. Pat pat lidge’s head, lol…Sadly, all good things must come to an end:( I hope you have enjoyed the journey of the story with us and we may meet again when the drama is released or if I post the comic book. For those who can’t get enough of Shan Shan, you can read it again in Bahasa Indonesia or Czechoslovakia language.  Lidge and I are so happy that there are people who like Shan Shan so much to bring her to other corner of the earth. In future, Shan Shan may get to travel to even more countries so keep me informed if you plan to translate it into your language. Sob sob……..bye bye my dear Shan Shan and Feng Teng……till we meet again……

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Interesting Tidbits on Life After Marriage (Part 3)

00e0a8ec8a136327fff08ada918fa0ec09fac7fd

Since hui3r will post on Easter, I’ll wish my readers an early Happy Easter! What is a better way to celebrate it than with Shan Shan and Feng Teng:P? This part is not as suggestive as part 1 but it may still make some people blush so you better don’t read it in your office or in public, lol. In this part, there is mentioned of happenings in the beginning of the novel so if you have forgotten, it is time to read again. I have also included the funny radio drama. The song at the end of the radio drama is called The Magic of Love. It sounds really sweet so I’ve included the youtube MV.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Interesting Tidbits on Life After Marriage (Part 2)

c7d4245592ece6f083bdb5f07b6c64ba

After the surprise and excitement in Part 1, this part is pale in comparison so you can read it with ease, lol. Yet, it is still very cute and sweet. What does Shan Shan love to do? How did Shan Shan and Feng Teng’s relationship develop? Of course, eat. Hence, the first tidbit is on Shan Shan’s chocolate house and the second one is on Chinese bayberries. I’ve never eaten Chinese bayberry before but according to my friend from China, it is sweet and delicious.

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Interesting Tidbits on Life After Marriage (Part 1)

Anyone miss Shan Shan and Feng Teng? This is part one of their married life translated by lidge. Of course, she cannot measure up to my translation since she is translating from the Viet book but it is still good so do support her, lol. The second tidbit is quite suggestive so use your vivid imagination, heehee…To facilitate that, I’ve included the link to the radio drama. Although it doesn’t follow the text closely and mostly only read out the dialogue, it is still very funny and cute so do give it a try. The song at the end is also very nice and sweet like sugar……..I found a MV for the song with pinyin and English sub which I’ve enclosed. Arrrgh, so adorable!!!! Here is the Viet translation for Shan Shan’s number one fan, Phong:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8u-0rkJSoY

Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) – Gu Man (Epilogue)

1544487_579703488818483_2077370181705954682_n

Surprise!!! I’ve rushed to finish off my part of the translation before the drama is finished filming. Initially, I intended to post this translation before the end of the Lunar New Year, but unfortunately I was too busy. Cry, cry, I have officially finished translating this novel, which is ending on a happy note. I hope I can find another novel equally as good as this to translate in the future. Thank you for your support and I hope you have enjoyed my translation. Do come back later as lidge will translate their cute life after marriage for you.

To celebrate the successful completion of this novel translation and also because this epilogue is very short, I’ve also included the comic posted on Gu Man’s weibo. Thank you decembi for helping me with the translation. Actually, book 1 of the comic has been released, but the quality of the copy posted on baidu is quite blur and bad. I am trying hard to buy a physical copy. I will translate and post it when I can get good quality pictures so be patient and wait.
