Tang Qi’s Books Mini-Special – Part 17

Thank you for your concern. The blog, hoju and I are still well and alive. If there is no update for more than half a year, then you should start to worry 😛 I am annoyed to discover that a website posted my mini-specials without linking or crediting me. When I am annoyed, I’ve no mood to do anything. Needless to say, they also didn’t ask for my permission. I want to reiterate that I don’t want anything on this blog to be re-posted anywhere in this world. It is even more irritating that they can’t even copy well. They only copied the text but not my pretty pictures. I can’t stand having such an imperfect and ugly copy floating around. Whenever I find any pretty pictures or any grammar/spelling errors, I’ll update my posts continuously.

To celebrate the ending of the drama Eternal Love, I’ve dug up something which I’ve not posted before to share with you. Hamster also translated number nine from her Pillow Book artbook.

Adapting Novels to Dramas/Movies

imageb8ac5682d158ccbf5fa420e91bd8bc3eb03541bfimagesCAE6KWPG

I know I posted this feature twice before but I’ve since modified and expanded it so the information is very current. I don’t like to make lots of posts:P I also have changed one of the cover picture so can you spot which one lol? Okay, now I’ve changed another cover picture because bongsd asked me to change Xiao Xiao’s clothes, LOL.

I am going to jump on the bandwagon and give you a preview of what up and coming c-dramas you can expect appearing on your screen soon. However my focus will primarily be on Chinese novels that have or will be adapted into dramas. They are sitting on quite some finished stock. In the meantime, some books are in the process of being filmed while some book copyrights have been sold. If you are interested in the stories, there are links to the book bar or external sources. If there is a trailer or any video, the link is in bracket. This post will be constantly updated with the latest information.

I don’t really agree with some of their rankings or inclusion but to each its own. I have not read a fair bit of them especially the ancient novels but Lidge is worse than me, haha. 75 Most Popular Chinese Romance Internet Novels

mzl_aanxvnor_1024x1024-65

Officially Feb 12, 2014 is the blog’s 1 year anniversary. However, I posted my first article on Feb 17 so I’ll consider that day as the anniversary. Hui3r aka Jessy was the one who set up the blog and did most of the writings initially. I never intended to do much except as a guest writer once in a blue moon. Like the plot of a promising novel that trainwreck, I ended up blogging all alone now. Sob, sob, such sad fate:( Thus, thank you to the support of my readers to keep me going. Oh, what a coincidence this is my 100th post. I can’t believe that I’ve been so hard-working. No wonder I am exhausted:P

As a present, I am posting something akin to the bestseller of this blog, the 50 Most Influential Chinese Romance Internet Novels. The ranking should be taken with a grain of salt as I am not sure of the sampling involved. Also, different people has different taste so you may not agree with the ranking or your favourite book didn’t even make it to the list. You should utilise the comment function here to voice your disagreement, or agreement. I’ve included the genre, A = Ancient or M = Modern and whether it has HE = Happy Ending, OE = Open Ending or BE = Bad Ending to help you pick your novels.

U1057P112T164D2447F3176DT20090316091940

Have you ever wondered how your favourite Chinese novelists look like? I have decided to become a private detective like Sherlock Holmes for a few days to research and dig out their photos for you. I have tried my best but I cannot guarantee all those pictures are real. Some authors have many pictures available online and I have chosen those which look the most natural and clear. Curiosity kills the cat so you’ve been warned:P

Do your favourite authors look like your imaginations? Are you shocked or surprised by their photos? There are more to come so stay tune for Part 2 if you are curious to know how Feng Nong who is the author of A Lonesome Fragrance Waiting to be Appreciated and Fresh Gor Gor who is the author of Hua Qian Gu plus many others look like.

50 Most Loving Couples in Chinese Novels Pictorials

20090110193859

I have posted influential novels as well as attractive male characters and favourite male characters poll results. I am not going to post attractive female characters because I strongly disagree with most of the rankings. Instead, I am going to post 50 most loving couples. I am also not really satisfied with this rankings.  Where are my Yun Ge & Ling gege or Yu’er & Huo Qu Bing? There is only 1 couple each from Tong Hua and Xin Yi Wu’s novels and none from Fei Wo Si Cun’s novels. However, the couples from Big Grey Wolf With Wings’ novels are over-represented and I don’t fancy most of them. In addition, there is a BL couple. I will not be writing any comment in this post, as you can read them in my previous posts but I expect you to make plenty:P I am posting some loving pictures for you to drool on, lol. I have painstakingly searched for the most appropriate pictures as I find the pictures from the source material are not good enough.

Three Lives Three Worlds Mini- Special (Couples Edition) – Part 15

541e50cf3bc79f3d3daaeee7bba1cd11738b2945

This week mini-special will be on the five couples in Three Live Three Worlds. Do you know all of them? I’ve also included a poll to select the most loved couple. I guess the winner will be either Ye Hua & Bai Qian or Dong Feng pair. Anyway, this is just for fun only, so no hard feeling except maybe Dijun will take out his Cang He sword if he doesn’t win the poll, lol. I bet most of you don’t know who is Shao Wan. She is the ancestor goddess of the Ghoul Clan (Xiao Yan’s ancestor) and will have a love-hate complicated relationship with Mo Yuan, Bai Qian’s ‘shifu’ and also Ye Hua’s brother.

Finally, I am posting my beloved mini-special. It is really tough, dividing my limited time between my two guys Feng Teng & Dong Hua, lol. I’ll try to do at least a mini-special a month. Since summer holiday will be over soon, this feature will be mostly on the cute & adorable kids, little dough & Gun Gun. Should I do one on Yan Chi Wu since I am starting to like him very much:P?

imagesCAZK8F0Ec8a11e7b40294fff86539805cc5b5f5c0003

This has quite a lot of overlaps with the top 35 favourite male characters. You go and spot how many of them appear in both so you’ll know who are the popular and well-loved ones. A special mention must be given to Feng Teng, my Shan Shan’s beloved Big Boss, lol. Now, you know my self-interest in posting this article, heehee….If you are curious as to who is that ancient guy in the featured image, he is Rong Zhi (Feng Qui Huang). As for the handsome couple starring at you, they are Wei Wei & Xiao Nai (Just One Smile is Very Alluring). As usual, I only know about half of the books so no comments on those I don’t know which may be updated later.

Peanuts will be going away for about 1 month so there may be little or no update.  Initially I plan to read the Pillow Book 2 during my holiday so I can post spoilers for all of you but unfortunately Tang Qi has postponed the release date from 12 June to the end of July:( Good news for those who wanna see Dong Hua Dijun naked as according to fans in Baidu, there will be ‘boating’ scenes in Book 2, lol. In the meantime, don’t miss me too much:P
